About this Blog

Our daughter arrived in our lives with a resolute look on her face and a loud cry in tow. It seemed what she really was saying was, “I am here to stay, so get used to it!” With that first indication of her forceful spirit and buoyant personality, my husband and I were ushered into parenthood.

Each day as her rapid growth amazes us; I experience a flashback of those moments when I nervously dressed our screaming infant in her cute, pink, over-sized onesie in preparation for our journey home from the hospital. She still screams occasionally, for reasons far more trivial than her entrance into this strange world. Most days, however, are filled with her gurgling laughter, purposeful babble, and charming, do-no-wrong smile. I now handle my toddler with dexterity, often performing a multitude of tasks while holding or playing with her; all traces of my previous nervousness, long gone. How far we've come!

Motherhood has blessed me and I count it all joy - the thrill, the fulfillment, the hopeless exhaustion, the hilarity, and growth! This blog is a calling to share my experiences as I navigate this journey. My hope is that this blog will first help my family and I safeguard these precious memories and give my daughter the opportunity to learn what a fun journey this has been for us all. The blog is also an effort to create a community of shared experiences in motherhood, particularly, the constant juggling of working motherhood. Hopefully, it will create an empathetic space for all mothers (rookies and veterans alike), and provide a peek into the other side of the curtain for aspiring mothers and regular readers, curious about the miracle that is motherhood.
